Behind The Card | Embracing the Eighties

October 2, 2012

Recycled Paper Greetings has used their DeLorean to be transported back to the 80s. The neon color, geometric shape craze has returned and whether it’s graffiti art or rainbow puking unicorns, it has landed all over the front of several of our totally rad new cards.

Whether it’s a good or bad thing, the 80s are back. From wayfarers to the complete Urkel look, you can bet this trend is a thriller. As trend-setters, Recycled Paper Greetings knows vogue (oh, wait…that’s the 90s) and these 80s inspired cards are no exception.

Our artists jumped at the opportunity to dive into the past and create cards that have a nostalgic feel to them. For some, these looks are a new fad, but for others, this was a lifestyle. And for those who lived this lifestyle, these cards will definitely remind you of days watching Risky Business while wearing your slap bracelets and saying things like right-on and cowabunga. These days were tubular and so are our new cards.
