About

Original and Unexpected

Recycled Paper Greetings embraces creativity and individuality. We are committed to an independent spirit and true individual expression. Our community of artists provides a diverse range of voices and styles that help make every one of your unique moments more original, more authentic and more unexpected.

Recycled Paper Greetings offers an ever-evolving line of greeting cards designed entirely by Independent Artists. We constantly seek new and emerging talent to bring distinct perspectives and styles to our already unique brand. We are trend setters, not trend watchers and we continually push the envelope, creating cards that are fresh, sometimes edgy and always surprising.

Our History

Established in 1971 by college roommates Phil Friedmann and Michael Keiser, Recycled Paper Greetings broke the mold of conventional greeting cards. Diving head-first into an untapped market, Recycled Paper Greetings adopted an innovative business model founded on the use of recycled paper and ideas crafted by independent, rather than in-house, artists. Recycled Paper Greetings flipped the industry upside down with their cutting edge designs and outrageous humor, instilling the company’s Alternative image.

In 2009, American Greetings acquired both Recycled Paper Greetings and PAPYRUS, combining the two brands to form our company: Papyrus-Recycled Greetings, Inc.

Today, Recycled Paper Greetings remains the undisputed leader in Alternative social expressions. With a growing family of freelance artists and writers adding to our eclectic mix, Recycled Paper Greetings remains dedicated to the diversity and creativity that they bring to our company.

Recycled Paper Greetings cultivates a community of independent artists who bring a diverse range of voices, tones and designs to our eclectic mix of product. Ranging from the humorous and whimsical to the outrageous, we’ll put the words in your mouth.
